What do we do?

JHF is a Canada-based organization that was originally founded by a small team of students in various healthcare fields. The idea was first developed in 2022 when we noticed global injustices that resulted in restricted healthcare and medication access – either through foreign policy decisions (e.g., political sanctions) or domestic policies that resulted in negligence to care for groups of people in certain nations around the world. We therefore have a strong stance against any policies that result in restricted healthcare, whether it be a lack of healthcare access for our indigenous population here at home, or policies that prevent the people of other nations from accessing critical medications and healthcare resources.

Additionally, we help provide funding for relief of extreme poverty and natural disasters. Lastly, our website also functions as a directory: we curate and update a list of other organizations in your area, categorized by subject (e.g., health equity, education, poverty relief) for you to browse if you are considering providing some form of support but are unsure where to look.

Our organization intends to make an impact via two means:

(a) Action – our own direct efforts to intervene and provide healthcare resources to those who need it, funded through generous donations

(b) Advocacy – including writing letters, conducting interviews, filming documentaries, social media advocacy, and engaging in conversation with politicians
